More about Sofía

I'm a pelvic and orthopedic physiotherapist. Also a medical journalist & translator. I've trained in pelvic physiotherapy in Spain, Netherlands and England and finished several graduate courses in post natal core restoration and functional exercise programming to complement my practice. After suffering twice from very severe pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain (PGP), I ended up specializing in treating PGP during and after pregnancy, and now I work along Cecile Röst, the creator of Rost Therapy, to educate health professionals and help women with this pathology in Spain and Latin America. I believe nutrition is as important as movement for pelvic recovery and completed an MSc in Human Nutrition in 2013. My practice aligns with the principles of Katy Bowman's Nutritious Movement, a game changer for many of us working in the movement field. I have a passion for learning: I'm constantly updating my knowledge and challenging my own beliefs when new and better evidence comes out. I'm humble enough to refer patients I can't help, and confident enough to keep the ones I know I can help. Not one practitioner has all the answers.
